Joint Flag Day Support Our Flag Day

Great news! We are having a joint Flag Day on 19 July with The Dragon Foundation*. It is part of an energetic community-wide fund-raising drive. Community involvement is so important to us, helping us to keep pace with youth's changing needs.

Your help means that we can constantly energize our core services. We provide thousands of different activities, from IT training to creative workshops, from multi-sport competitions to English public speaking contests. Talented and underprivileged young people all need encouragement from all of us to develop fully.

We will be out in force on Hong Kong Island on 19 July and we need your help if we are to reach our target of HK$2 million. A simple donation would be very welcome but you can also help us to sell flags by providing volunteers or help us distribute collection bags among your staff for early donations. In all, we are looking for at least 4,000 volunteers to help sell flags. Find a way that suits you, but please, do join us in this major campaign!

Feature Story

Students helped by our school social workers

Yen remembers how the constant conflict between her parents, when she was in Form 3, affected her life. Not only did she perform badly in school, but she also became angry and defiant, often masking her sadness and confusion with aggression. But Yen had the good fortune to have Frenda, a Federation social worker who was based at her school and to whom she could go directly.

As Yen recalled, "My distressing home life was making me less confident and more and more withdrawn. At that time, I felt so depressed and was plagued by the stress of conflicting emotional needs. I just wanted to keep a great distance from my parents. And I didn't know how to cope. However, it was Frenda who managed to bring light into my life.
