Look after your neighbours |
|
Neighbours are precious. They live next door and share your world. You know their joys, their families and their ways. What could be better than to make something special for them and deliver it personally.
Our young volunteers visit their neighbours regularly. They get to know them, especially needy families and elderly people living alone. Last weekend, over 100 Neighbourhood First teams cooked Chinese New Year rice cake to take to neighbourhood households. They included many volunteers from HKFYG Youth SPOTs, like those who learnt how with Chef Alan Lee at the HKFYG Hung Shui Kiu Youth SPOT and then took their gifts to 100 village households in rural Yuen Long. And the giving continues.
This weekend too, when the annual Neighbourhood First reunion lunch takes place all over Hong Kong, 12,000 neighbours will enjoy traditional, hot, delicious pun choi casseroles with us. Why not join us and share the joy.
Look after your neighbours and they will look after you. Not just this weekend but every weekend!
