Sport: finding incentives
Sport
It is often easier to do something, particularly sports, in a group. Whether with family, friends or even just acquaintances, the motivation and inspiration from others is always an incentive to try harder, do better and go further.

The Federation's Youth Community Sports Festival is just that: participating in various activities with support and encouragement from others. Whether you like skipping rope, playing basketball, floor curling, taekwondo, dodge ball or table tennis, all these different events will be highlighted at the Festival.

The HKFYG Youth Community Sports Festival is funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The finals take place at the Hong Kong Sports Institute on 26 February. Come and join the festive atmosphere and cheer on the participants!

Risks of drinking: survey on youth attitudes and awareness by HKFYG's Youth Crime Prevention Centre
Risks of drinking YCPC survey
60% of the 11-26 year-olds respondents know drinking can be harmful. The majority say that most underage drinking takes place at festivals or on other social occasions when they feel negative, or when friends invite them to get drunk or when just having fun involves drinking. Preventive education is important as is reinforcement of the law against underage drinking. Awareness of the legal and health risks of underage binge drinking is needed. Equally important is learning how to deal with negativity and anxiety, knowing how to refuse a drink firmly but politely, and recognizing that it's not necessary to drink to make or keep friends. YCPC encourages any young person with a drinking problem to get in touch.
