The festive season is all about music and dance and celebrating with loved ones. Come join the Federation as we add to the joyous sounds this December with numerous events and competitions.

This Sunday, 11 December, the Federation is hosting the Hong Kong Percussion Competition then in mid-December, we are organizing the Hong Kong Asia Pacific Youth Band Sound Competition with bands representing Hong Kong, the Mainland, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and Thailand. On Boxing Day, the Hong Kong Melody Makers will be part of a joint concert with the Hong Kong String Orchestra, and then the HKFYG Farm Road Youth SPOT will host the annual Project Dance Camp.

Music does more than just lift your spirits. According to recent research frequent dancing can also make you smarter.* So, come and join in the fun, put on your dancing shoes and move to the music!

Outstanding Youth Volunteers Award 2016
HKFYG has received recognition for its volunteers who contributed over 1,368,000 service hours in 2015, placing as 3rd Runner-up in the Public Organizations Highest Service Hours Award 2015. This annual scheme run by the Social Welfare Department recognizes commitment and contributions to society. Winners of this year's Outstanding Youth Volunteers Award included Ng Lai-yi, Fung Yuk-yin, Chan Kit-ting, Lam Tsz-shan, Pun Kit-shan, Chung Wing-tung, Ho Kin-yee and Ho Ka-tsun. All of them are HKFYG volunteers nominated by HKFYG units and "Heart to Heart Schools."

Hong Kong Institute of Architects organizes study on youth housing aspirations sponsored by Hong Kong Housing Society
In partnership with HKFYG's Youth Research Centre, the survey asked 800 young people aged 18-34 about their hope for future homes.
Release date November 2016
Major findings Over 60% considered owning their home as a goal in life and about 10% already owned property. Over a quarter planned to buy but more than half needed financial support. About a third said that property costing HK$3-4 million would be affordable.
